Electric vs. Solar

I have a strand of the electric lights in my yard and I have solar ones as well. The challenge I have is they are all good but they are different colors. The newer solar ones are brighter and put off more light. The older electric ones put off more of a golden glow and are softer. I'm two toned. Any suggestions?

Why not move one of them to a different part of the yard? The electric sound like they'd be lovely around an entertainment area or in a corner of the garden with a bench.

The two tones of color would bother me as well. Many a time I've replaced all the white lights on the Christmas tree instead of just a few of them because the emitted lights from the strands were different. Is there another place you can use one string of lights?

These are both good ideas. Either moving one set to another location or simply buying a new set (s) that match seems logical. I am not sure about your needs or arrangement, but maybe you could drape one under the other if you need both in the same spot.

If you want to keep both, you might try staggering the solar lights in between the electric lights to give it a more balanced look.

Solar lights have certainly come a long way. My poor solar lights glow so soft compared to the electric ones, it is sometimes hard to tell they are even working until you are right on top of them.

The bad thing about solar is that they just do not stay lit for more than a few hours. It is frustrating because we get a lot of sun, but it just does not seem to matter.

Use the brighter ones to light up features in the garden like trees or garden art. And use the electric ones in the bushes to give more of an ambiance.

You can change the position of one electric lights to the other area.

You can change the position of one electric lights to the other area. However, normally solar energy is better.
