Do you incorporate seats, such as benches, in your landscaping? If so, what do you place around the seats?

We have a grouping of palm trees and put a bench in their shade, along with a couple silver bottlebrush bushes.

I have created two seating areas in my gardens. One is more for solitary visiting, as it's just a small bench tucked into a quiet corner. The other is one of my favorite spots to have coffee with a friend or just enjoy a chat as I have a small bistro set there with two chairs.

    Seating in yard

We have a number of seating areas on our yard, in addition to patio seating. I have been fortunate in having inherited several sets of antique wrought iron tables, chairs and assorted benches. I also have some antique garden benches that were in an estate sale. There are four or five separate areas in my yard where people can sit. We have natural areas, walkways, azaleas, hostas, and a variety of lilies, gardenias and other plants that bloom throughout the summer.

I have a bench in a secluded area of the front yard. My yard is kind of hard to explain, but there is a lawn and then there is woods. In the woods are large rocks. When I say ROCKS, I mean they are like boulders. You can actually climb on them and sit down.

Anyway, the bench is near two of these rocks. I like to sit out there at night and listen to the frogs and crickets.
